School Council
Coppice Academy has an active School Council. Two children are selected by their peers to represent each class in school from Year 3 through to Year 6. These children are responsible for bringing views and suggestions to our School Council meetings.
With the support of Mr Fowler, the children in School Council share the views of their class, carry out fundraising activities and become involved in making school decisions. Each half term School Council share their newsletter with the school community to provide important updates.
The School Council had an exciting and memorable visit to the UK Parliament, where we had the fantastic opportunity to meet Saqib Bhatti. During the visit, we learned about how Parliament works, how laws are made, and the important role Members of Parliament play in representing their communities. We were able to ask questions, share our ideas, and gain a better understanding of democracy in action. It was an inspiring experience that encouraged us to think about how young people can have a voice and make a positive difference in society.
